Opponents of the Czech government’s policy gathered for a rally in Letna Park. About 600 people came out to protest, according to the Prague police, Czech Radio reported.
The organizer was the “National Council of Renewal” – a new movement in the political palette of the Czech Republic. The speakers demanded that the government reduce electricity prices and stop its export, and nationalize underground gas storages. The speakers also spoke in favor of supporting domestic producers of food products.
The report says that the speakers criticized the European Union, NATO and assistance to Ukraine,
The organizers of the action claim that they are not creating a project with political ambitions. The council, they say, wants to be an alternative to government action. The Cabinet of Ministers, according to the sounded slogans, failed to bring the country out of the energy, environmental and economic crises. “The main thing for those gathered under the flag of the National Renewal Council is to correct the current situation,” the Czech Radio said in a statement.
