The government will allocate an additional 500 million rubles. for the restoration and overhaul of housing damaged by floods in Transbaikalia. About it reported Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a government meeting.

“The President emphasized that the scale of natural disasters in some areas is absolutely unprecedented. Unfortunately, weather disasters have traditionally tested the strength of many of our regions,” Mishustin recalled.

The head of the Cabinet emphasized that no matter how significant the consequences, it is extremely important to help people and not leave them alone with trouble. Floods destroyed and damaged houses in Transbaikalia for two years in a row. Now housing for 250 families requires restoration and major repairs.

“2 billion 759 million rubles were previously allocated for these purposes, today we will additionally allocate over half a billion rubles. This decision will allow hundreds of people to return their homes,” Mishustin concluded.

In 2021, the authorities of Transbaikalia appreciated damage from three waves of floods amounted to 3.7 billion rubles. Then the Russian government compensated region funds spent on providing financial assistance to citizens. A total of 89.5 million rubles were allocated for these purposes.
