Annual inflation in Russia slowed to 7.24% over the week – Kommersant

The Ministry of Economy reported that annual inflation in Russia from January 23 to 29 slowed to 7.24%, consumer price growth amounted to 0.16% year-on-year. From the department’s report (.pdf) it follows that prices for eggs and diesel fuel have decreased.
In the food products segment, from January 23 to January 29, prices changed by 0.23%. The price of eggs continues to decline – by 1.03%. However, the pace slowed compared to the previous week, when the value decreased by 1.41%. Since the beginning of the year, eggs have fallen in price by 1.86%. Prices for other products decreased by 0.01%. The growth rate of prices for fruits and vegetables amounted to 1.2%.
Among non-food products, a near-zero price increase was revealed – 0.03%. Over the week, diesel prices decreased by 0.07% and gasoline prices increased by 0.03%. Prices also increased for cars and construction materials (+0.05%), clothing (+0.06%) and shoes (+0.02%). Prices for electrical and household appliances decreased by 0.23%. In the field of tourism and consumer services, inflation amounted to 0.35% due to changes in prices for air tickets for domestic flights (4.67%).
