Annual inflation in Russia slowed to 11.98% in November

Annual inflation in Russia slowed to 11.98% in November against 12.63% a month earlier, follows from data Rosstat. On a monthly basis, inflation accelerated to 0.37% after 0.18% in October.
In 23 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, an increase in consumer prices by 0.5% or more was recorded. The largest growth was noted in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (1.2%). In Moscow, prices increased by 0.3% over the month, in St. Petersburg – by 0.6%. At the same time, a decrease in consumer prices was noted in the Tyumen region (0.3%) and the Novosibirsk region (0.1%).
Among food products prices for cucumbers rose by 32.5%, tomatoes – by 16.9%, oranges – by 9.0%, red beets – by 4.5%, grapes – by 3.7%, potatoes – by 2.8%. Lemons fell in price – by 2.5%, frozen berries – by 1.6%, nuts – by 1.3%, apples – by 0.9%.
Prices on medicationsrelated to vital and essential drugs (VED) increased by an average of 0.3%, for non-VED drugs also increased by an average of 0.3%.
Among non-food items the price of dry pet food rose by 2.1%, toothpastes – by 1.2%, diapers for newborns, toilet soap – by 0.7%, washing powders – by 0.3%. Prices for sanitary masks decreased by 1.6%, baby paper diapers – by 0.9%, hand sanitizers – by 0.5%, toilet paper – by 0.1%.
Prices for diesel fuel increased by 2.9%, motor gasoline – by 0.1%. Prices for gas motor fuel decreased by 2.4%.
