Annual inflation in Russia accelerated to 6.59% – Kommersant

Inflation in Russia for the week from October 17 to October 23 accelerated to 0.24% compared to 0.15% a week earlier. Year on year, the rate of price growth was 6.59%. This is stated in the reports of Rosstat and the Ministry of Economy (.pdf).
Since the beginning of October, inflation has amounted to 0.69%, since the beginning of the year – 5.39%. In the food products segment, prices increased by 0.39% over the week, the cost of vegetables and fruits increased by 1.15%. Tomatoes rose in price by 7.3%, cucumbers by 3.7%.
In the segment of non-food products from October 17 to October 23, inflation was approximately at the level of the previous week – 0.05% versus 0.06%. The segment of regulated, tourism and personal services resumed growth – 0.42% versus -0.06% a week earlier.
The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Russia will hold a meeting on October 27, at which it will decide on the size of the key rate. Currently it is 13%.
