Annual inflation in Russia accelerated to 3.86% over the week – Kommersant

From July 11 to July 17, inflation in Russia accelerated to 0.18% after 0.14% the previous week, follows from the data Rosstat. Since the beginning of the month, consumer prices have increased by 0.38%, since the beginning of the year – by 3.15%. According to Ministry of Economyannual inflation accelerated to 3.86% from 3.59% a week earlier.
According to Rosstat, prices for sugar (+ 1.1%), fruits and vegetables (+ 0.8%), including cabbage (+ 5.2%), bananas (+ 2.7%), apples (+ + 2.3%. The cost of gasoline and diesel increased by 0.5% and 0.1%. Also, the cost of a flight in the economy class cabin has risen (+ 2%).
Decreased prices for vermicelli (-0.9%), canned meat for baby food and buckwheat (-0.7%), sunflower oil and pasta (-0.5%).
From the data of the Ministry of Economy it follows that in the segment of food products, the price increase amounted to 0.14% after 0.10% the previous week. Non-food products rose in price by 0.24%. In particular, passenger cars – by 0.23%. Growth in prices for tourism and personal services slowed down to 0.18% after 0.27%.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economy, in 2023 inflation in Russia will be 5.3%. The Central Bank expects inflation in the range of 4.5-6.5%. The regulator’s target for inflation is 4%.
