We remembered Dima at the Troekurovskoye cemetery
17 October. Troekurovskoe Cemetery… For 29 years now, on the day when an explosion occurred in the editorial office of MK, which took the life of our colleague, military correspondent of Moskovsky Komsomolets Dmitry Kholodov, we have been coming to his grave.
Autumn, fallen yellow leaves, a bronze face with painfully familiar features, wax from burning candles that burns your fingers, a funeral prayer…
“Whoever shed righteous blood, and this is exactly how Dima died, with his blood not only washes away his sins, but also his neighbors,” Father Dimitri said after the prayer. “Therefore, pray for him to make his life after death easier.”
“I remember Dima as an amazingly kind person. At the same time, amazing courage and honesty,” said MK deputy editor-in-chief Petr Spektor.
Dima’s mother, Zoya Aleksandrovna Kholodova, who has become a dear person to us over these many years, remembering her son, drew a parallel with today: “In the nineties, when many were thinking about emigrating, I asked Dima: “Would you like to leave the country?” He replied, “No. This is my homeland. I’m needed here.”
We need him now. Like our conscience, our guide.
Dima’s short and bright life is an eternal memory.
