Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said that the conflict in Ukraine in 2023 will continue, including due to the support of Kyiv from the US and the EU, TASS reports.

“Support for the US, Europe and the West continues,” Akar said.

According to him, the training of the Ukrainian military is being carried out, the money allocated to the budgets of Western countries is being allocated.

“On the other hand, there are also statements from Russia,” the head of the Turkish Defense Ministry said. “If you combine all this, then it will not be a mistake to say that this war will most likely continue in 2023, despite all our good intentions and wishes to establish a ceasefire and peace regime.”

Earlier, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking to ambassadors, named 8 main planning tasks for Ukrainian diplomacy for 2023. Among them was the provision of the defense needs of Ukraine and the supply of weapons from allied countries.

On December 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Federation would strive to end the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible.
