The club of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Akhmat announced the dismissal of the head coach of the team Andrey Talalaev. It happened a day later after the home defeat of Grozny with a score of 1:3 in the confrontation with Nizhny Novgorod. This is the seventh coaching resignation since the start of the season.
On Sunday, the Akhmat RPL club (at the moment the team is in ninth place in the national championship) at its official website announced the dismissal of the head coach of the team Andrey Talalaev. It is reported that head coach Yury Nagaytsev will prepare the team for the upcoming matches. Already on September 13, the team will play away with Dynamo in the second round of the Russian Cup, and on September 17, they will also meet with Ural Yekaterinburg in the 10th round of the Russian championship.
The first reports of the upcoming resignation of Andrei Talalaev appeared on Saturday, after Akhmat lost to Nizhny Novgorod with a score of 1:3 in the ninth round match of the Russian championship. Fatal for the hosts was a four-minute stretch in the second half (by that time the score was 1:1), during which they conceded twice. This defeat was the third in the last four matches.
It is possible that Mr. Talalaev’s resignation would have happened a little earlier, but in early September, the Grozny team, after two defeats, still gave out a winning match, beating Lokomotiv away.
As you can see, this success did not strengthen the position of the coach too much.
Andrey Talalaev worked in Akhmat since the summer of 2020. Previously, he also managed to work in Volga (Nizhny Novgorod), Tambov, Khimki, Rosich (Moscow), Wings of the Soviets (Samara). In 2004, the specialist worked in the coaching staff of the Moscow “Spartak” under the leadership of the Italian Nevio Scala, then for five years he led the youth teams of Russia of different ages.
Note that this season is very rich in coaching resignations. On average, during the first third of the championship, two or three coaches of the league clubs usually lost their jobs. This time, taking into account Mr. Talalaev, there are already seven of them (this is an “improvement” of the record set in the 2013/14 season). In particular, Igor Shalimov (Khimki), Alexander Borodyuk (Torpedo), Nikolay Pisarev (Khimki), Oleg Vasilenko (Fakel) and Marvin Compper (Lokomotiv) lost their posts. But we need to make a reservation that formally the latter was only a member of Josef Zinnbauer’s coaching staff, but in fact it was he who led the team.
