Ex-football player and former coach of the Ukrainian national football team Andrey Shevchenko was elected president of the Ukrainian Football Federation (UAF). Until the summer of 2021, Andrei Shevchenko, as head coach, led the Ukrainian national team, which he led to the quarter finals of the European Championship. In mid-January 2023, he left the post of head coach of the Italian Genoa. Shevchenko is the winner of the 2004 Ballon d’Or. He retired from playing in 2012. As a football player, he played for Dynamo Kiev, Italian Milan and London Chelsea.
