Anatoly Karpov. The history of the great chess player in the first person
[ad_1]
The creative evening “Life and Chess” in the “Eldar” Cinema Club gathered a full house. The chess maestro did not disappoint – for the first time Anatoly Karpov personally spoke about himself in chess and about chess in himself, about his rivalry with Viktor Korchnoi and Garry Kasparov, and much more.
The name of the twelfth world chess champion is known even to those who are not at all interested in this game. The number of his titles, titles, awards, regalia, interests and occupations is practically indescribable, the schedule is still scheduled for several years ahead. But this Man of the World found time for a frank story about his path to the chess, and not only, Olympus, for which we are all very grateful to him.
In the Eldar Cinema Club in Moscow, the legendary chess player told about his path in chess, how to succeed, how to survive in the world of undercover fuss and cunning intrigues, how not to lose oneself, combining for a long time the incarnations of a great athlete, statesman, famous philatelist, president of the Peace Foundation, deputy of the State Duma and head of a huge number of chess clubs and schools to the whole world.
The first love of a boy from a small Ural city for chess, the first competitions and the first victories. Undercover intrigues of Soviet functionaries, espionage and forbidden literature. Rivalry with Viktor Korchnoi, fight with Garry Kasparov and friendship with Robert Fischer. Meetings with unusual people from all over the world – Anatoly Karpov spoke about all this honestly and frankly.
The “icing on the cake” of meeting with Karpov is his answers to the questions of the audience, not only as a chess player, but also as an adventurer, philatelist, politician and a person who has something to tell.
The evening ended with an almost endless autograph session from Anatoly Karpov.
