Anastasia Rakova: Yamal medical institutions are increasingly using capital AI solutions

Using the capital’s neural networks, over 60 thousand radiation studies of patients in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug were processed. During the first year of cooperation between the city and the region, 5 medical institutions were added to the project, now 14 are using the platform. In the coming year, work on cooperation to explore the possibilities of computer vision technologies for analyzing medical images will continue.

“The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug has been cooperating with our Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine since 2022. Over the year, the number of Yamal medical institutions using Moscow neural networks has increased almost 3 times, and today doctors from 14 medical organizations in the region use smart algorithms when describing medical images,” said Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova.

The vice mayor added that during this time more than 60 thousand studies of fluorography, mammography, radiography and computed tomography of the chest organs have been processed. And this is 30% of all such studies in the region.

Doctors in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug can get help from AI technologies developed in Moscow thanks to the HUB Telemed platform. Its creator is the Moscow Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Health Department. All research in anonymized form is transmitted through the platform to neural networks. The AI ​​processes the information and returns a description to the doctor. This automates processes and saves time.
