The capital’s schoolchildren and college students completed the first half of the year of the project “Unique Documents. The view of a new generation.” They managed to work with documents of famous doctors and theater and film figures from the Imperial Moscow University, which are located in the Main Archive of Moscow.

“We provide the opportunity to study artifacts not only online at desks at the Moscow Electronic School, but also to get acquainted with them live. Thus was born the joint project of the Moscow Main Archive and the capital’s Department of Education and Science – “Unique Documents. The view of a new generation.” Its participants study documents and draw up their own projects on the biography of outstanding historical figures,” said Deputy Mayor Anastasia Rakova.

She added that, based on the results of research by project participants, Glavarchive specialists nominated documents from six personal files of students of the Imperial Moscow University for inclusion in the Register of Unique Documents of the capital. In total, students examined about 550 particularly valuable documents. The qualifying stage for the second half of the project is currently underway.

Project “Unique Documents. The View of a New Generation” has been running since September. It was organized by the Main Archive and the Moscow Center for Educational Practices of the Department of Education and Science. Almost 30 people became finalists of the project. In total, more than 450 students from colleges and schools applied to participate.
