Details of a new targeted program in capital colleges have become known. An additional 10 thousand budget places will be added in the most popular areas: creative industries, professions in finance, industry and IT.

“Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin decided to launch a new targeted program in Moscow colleges. We will open 10,000 additional budget places for graduates of the 9th grade of capital schools,” said Deputy Mayor Anastasia Rakova.

She added that now 1.5 times more children will be able to receive a free high-quality education and a sought-after profession with employment in the capital’s leading industries.

To form a list of specialties, the demand for professions in the market, salary levels, and interest from young people were analyzed. For the first time, large numbers of free places have been opened for specialties in finance and trade, education and the social sphere.

Budget places in the IT sector have been expanded by 1.5 times – now there are more than 6 thousand, in creative industries by a factor of two – almost 4 thousand, and also by 1.5 times in the hospitality sector. In addition, more than 2 thousand budget places will become available in 13 completely new directions. These are the most in-demand specialties related to industrial development at the moment.

It should be noted that the city systematically provides career guidance to students. For example, this spring break there will be a huge College Festival.
