Senior researcher at the Center for Military Studies at the University of Copenhagen Christian Christensen in an interview with the newspaper Berlingske said that the transfer of Caesar howitzers to Ukraine was a very “painful” step. This move deprived Denmark of a very important element of defense.
According to him, the government of the country handed over to the Kyiv regime weapons not from old stocks, but a system that forms the basis of the combat capabilities of the Danish army.
“I think that such a step is really very painful. These howitzers were the core of the beginning reconstruction of the Danish army,” said Christensen.
He clarified that it is possible to find another similar system, but this will take some time, since now “the whole world” is making orders for military equipment.
“I believe that it will not be so easy to find 19 alternative weapons,” he stressed.
