The pro-Palestinian rally, as specified by the police, took place on October 28 on Lenin Square in Cherkessk and attracted 80 participants. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stopped the “illegal actions of those gathered” and took 34 violators to the police department. There, administrative protocols were drawn up against the demonstrators under Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing).

The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of a fine from 10,000 to 30,000 rubles, the department said in a statement. They warned that participation in uncoordinated actions entails administrative and criminal liability.

October 28 in Dagestan also passed a number of unauthorized actions in support of Palestine. In Khasavyurt, several dozen people gathered near a hotel where refugees from Israel were allegedly staying. Police and municipal authorities arrived at the scene, and as a result, they quickly managed to “correct the misunderstanding,” said the head of the region, Sergei Melikov. He stated that this incident “does not paint well those who succumbed to provocations and allowed themselves to be manipulated,” and young people almost broke the law because of fakes.
