An opposition rally was held in Warsaw before parliamentary elections

The opposition march was organized by the former Chairman of the European Council, ex-Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk. Now the politician heads the opposition party Civic Platform. Its main rival in the upcoming parliamentary elections is Poland’s ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party.

Tusk linked the march in Warsaw with big changes in the country, saying that they could lead the opposition to victory in the elections, writes Polsat News.

“The impossible has become possible. I see this sea of ​​hearts. When I see these hundreds of thousands of smiling faces, I am pleased that this breakthrough moment is coming in the history of our homeland,” Tusk said before the start of the Million Hearts March.

Parliamentary elections in Poland will take place on October 15. In the elections, Poles will elect 460 deputies and 100 senators. The main competitors will be Law and Justice and Civic Platform. In addition to the leading parties, the Eurosceptic Confederation party, the coalition of the Left and Third Way parties and the unification of the Polish Peasant Party and the Poland Party are also participating in the vote. In order to get into parliament, parties need to overcome a barrier of 5%, and party coalitions – 8%.
