As the head of the city Oleg Belak noted, the White Cranes tournament is a great opportunity to prove oneself, get to know and communicate with each other, meet new friends:
– Sport is an important part of the upbringing of the younger generation. The development of youth sports in Naryan-Mar has always been one of the priorities. The administration of Naryan-Mar will continue to support public organizations implementing socially significant projects in the city. I have no doubt that the tournament will be held at the highest level and will become a real holiday for young athletes. It will also promote sports and a healthy lifestyle.
The sports festival was organized by the Wrestling Federation of the city of Naryan-Mar. It was held with funds received at the municipal competition for grants for socially significant projects for NGOs, the official website of the authorities of the capital of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug reports.
The project “White Cranes” is dedicated to the memory of the participants of the Great Patriotic War. As part of it, the organizers held a number of events to improve the health of children, patriotic education and the formation of interethnic culture in society.
– The interregional tournament with the invitation of athletes from Dagestan is aimed at improving the health of children and at developing interethnic, friendly, good relations in the region. Upon the arrival of all participants, we laid flowers at the Obelisk of Victory, remembered relatives, participants in the Great Patriotic War. Such events are meant to remind people of the importance of knowing and respecting history. The unity and brotherhood of peoples became one of the main factors of the Victory in 1945,” said Zavurbek Abdulkarimov, President of the Board of the International Public Organization Wrestling Federation of the City of Naryan-Mar.
As part of the project, training camps were held in the martial arts hall from April 1 to April 30. The training was attended by guys from Naryan-Mar and the settlements of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug. There were training sessions, friendly and test fights between children.
From May 1 to May 5, qualifying competitions were held, according to which the strongest athletes of different weight categories were identified to participate in the White Cranes tournament.
