An open arm wrestling tournament was held at the Stavropol branch of the RANEPA

In the Stavropol branch of the RANEPA, the results of the open arm wrestling tournament were summed up, in which not only students of the Stavropol branch of the RANEPA, but also athletes from the North Caucasus Federal University took part. The teams had the opportunity to test themselves and compete for the tournament title.

The tournament was held in the individual competition in three weight categories: up to 70 kg, from 70-80 kg, over 80 kg. Athletes competed each in their weight category, right hand from a sitting position, with elimination after two defeats.

The absolute championship in the weight category up to 70 kg was won by the athletes of the Stavropol branch of the RANEPA: Kapov Leon, Reuk Ilmar and Tsargasov Akim. In the weight category of 70-80 kg Ogandzhanyan Sergey, a student of the Stavropol branch of the RANEPA, won. In the weight category over 80 kg, all prizes were won by athletes from the North Caucasus Federal University.

“Armwrestling is the most democratic type of martial arts. This is a vivid spectacle demonstrating the spirit of struggle, rivalry, empathy. Hand wrestling is considered the most democratic and “peaceful” type of martial arts, where any participant has a chance to win. An event of this format brings together students not only to demonstrate strength, but also to recharge with a positive, positive mood, ”commented the chief judge of the competition, associate professor of the Stavropol branch of the RANEPA Zoya Sapronova.
