In the city cultural and leisure center of Ufa (former recreation center “Khimik”), the exhibition “Bashkortostan – the flagship of Russian motorsport” began its work. It is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Sports of the Republic, which is being celebrated this year.
The exposition is based on dozens of stands and hundreds of unique photographs, most of which were seen for the first time even by motorsport experts. The organizers of the exhibition are sure that no other kind of sport cultivated in the republic has such grounds to consider itself involved in the anniversary of the Ministry of Sports of Bashkiria as motorsport has.
– Even at the turn of the 50s and 60s of the twentieth century, motorsport became the hallmark of the region, and Ufa was called the capital of Soviet motorsport in the central press, they say. – The names of Gabdrakhman Kadyrov, Boris Samorodov, Igor Plekhanov, Farit Shainurov and many other riders from Ufa in the early 60s were known in many countries of the world. In the 80s they were replaced by Mikhail Starostin, Nikolai Kornev, Rif Saitgareev, Rinat Mardanshin.
Today, Bashkir motorcycle racers have been able to retain the titles of the world’s leading athletes. Nikolai Krasnikov, Dmitry Bulankin, Dmitry Koltakov and Dinar Valeev have repeatedly won world champion titles. And the team “Bashkortostan” is a 15-time champion of Russia.
The exhibition will run in Ufa until May 30 inclusive.
