Former NATO officer Frenchman Erwan Castel, who became a volunteer in the Donetsk militia, shared his dream of living in the Russian outback to be closer to the Russian people.
According to Castel, he previously took part in military operations in African countries, but in 2015 he decided to join the DPR militia. “When the Maidan happened, I decided to follow the news every day, and after the massacre in Odessa and the bombing of Lugansk, I decided to leave French Guiana (…) and join the Donbass resistance,” the fighter recalls.
The Frenchman added that even before the start of the Northern Military District in Ukraine, he fought in the Debaltsevo area, in Gorlovka and was severely maimed in the Sosnovka area. At the same time, he does not plan to go back home after the end of hostilities. The military man dreams of settling in Russia and taking up traditional music and singing there.
