An emergency warning was issued in Moscow due to heavy snow

Residents in the capital region are being warned of heavy snow from the evening of Tuesday, January 9 until the morning of Wednesday, January 10. This was reported in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow.
Due to difficult weather conditions, the department asks road users to be attentive and careful.
In particular, drivers are advised to reduce their speed and increase their distance from cars in front, as well as park away from trees. Pedestrians are advised to avoid billboards and rickety structures.
Due to the predicted snowfall, an increased, “yellow” level of weather danger has been introduced in the capital region. As follows from the forecast warning map on the official website of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation, the warning is valid until 06:00 Wednesday, January 10. In addition, until noon Wednesday there will be a “yellow” level of weather danger in Moscow and the Moscow region due to icy conditions.
Meanwhile, meteorologists said that on Epiphany night on January 19, sharp warming can be expected in the Russian capital. Severe frosts will return before January 18, while the difference in temperatures on January 18 and 19 can be quite significant and reach about 10 degrees.
