An athlete from Obninsk Alexey Filkin received gold in prone wrestling at the Russian Jiu-Jitsu Championship. This was announced on Friday, February 2, at the Ministry of Sports of the Kaluga Region.
They noted that the fighter from Obninsk became the winner in the weight category up to 60 kg in the discipline “prone wrestling” among boys under 16 years old.
“On the way to the gold, Alexey won four victories, and then in a friendly final over teammate Andrei Zheludevich. The athletes have been selected for the Russian national team,” the department noted.
Let us add that the jiu-jitsu championship took place in the Tver region. More than 1,000 athletes from 39 regions of Russia took part in the competition.
Also on the podium was a student of the Yunost sports school, Elizaveta Petrenko. She became a silver medalist.
