Pomorie skier Alexey Shemyakin took part in the IRONSTAR triathlon in Sochi at an iron distance of 226 km. Among about 6 thousand participants, he swam, ran and cycled.
Thus, the swimming stage took place in the bay of the Imereti port. The athletes had to cover 3.86 km. The route of the cycling stage passed along the coast and in the mountains along the Adler-Krasnaya Polyana highway. The length of the stage was 180 km. The running stage at a distance of 42 km took place along the Black Sea coast.
According to the results of the race, Alexey Shemyakin finished in 10th place in the overall standings with a result of 9:30:56. In addition, the athlete showed the best time on the running stage – 2:38:35
