An athlete from Karelia performed well at the Special Olympics in swimming

The All-Russian tournament of the Special Olympics in swimming took place in the city of Kazan. Karelia was represented at the tournament “Let’s win together” by a student of the adaptive sports department of the RSSOR. About it reported in the public “Sport is the norm of life in Karelia”.
For the participants of the competition, the organizers have prepared distances of varying degrees of difficulty. It was possible to participate alone and in a national team with athletes from other regions of Russia.
The Karelian athlete managed to take eight medals. Personally, Ilona Maidan won 4 medals at different distances.
In relay races, together with participants from Samara, Kazan and Moscow, four medals of various denominations were also received.
