An athlete from Kaluga, Alexander Sagalakov, took bronze at the All-Russian Karate Tournament, the regional Ministry of Sports reported on Wednesday, February 14.
A student of the Vympel Olympic reserve sports school was among the top three among men over 18 years old in the weight category up to 84 kilograms.
The competition took place in Lipetsk. 800 athletes from 26 regions of the country competed for the Peter the Great Cup.
“We congratulate our Alexander and his mentor on their successful performance and well-deserved award,” the department added.
