An air raid alert was announced in Sevastopol, reported around 20:00 Moscow time, city governor Mikhail Razvozhaev in his Telegram channel.
“Attention everyone! Air raid alert,” the message says.
This is the second alarm announcement in the city this day. For the first time Razvozhaev announced alarm at about 16:21 Moscow time, warning a little later that the smoke in the Sevastopol Bay area is a standard means of camouflage used by the Russian Armed Forces. Already at 16:38 the governor announced the end of the alarm.
Along with the alarm, traffic on the Crimean Bridge was suspended for the second time; those on the bridge are asked to remain calm and follow the instructions of transport security officers.
After Ukrainian troops launched a missile attack on Sevastopol on September 22, the city developed an air attack warning algorithm. When the Unified Duty Dispatch Service (UDDS) begins warning through sirens and loudspeakers, and also intercepts broadcasts on federal television channels, information about the threat of an air strike is published on the governor’s Telegram channel. Next, EDDS will distribute the alarm signal on regional channels and radio stations.
