Media: an air raid warning has been declared on the territory of Ukraine
An air raid alert has been declared on the territory of Ukraine, TASS reports citing Ukrainian media.
The first sirens sounded at 6:18 Moscow time in the Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumy and Kharkov regions. After 40 minutes, warnings began to apply in the Nikolaev and Odessa regions. From 7:21 to 7:34, all other regions entered the red zone.
Earlier it became known about explosions in Kyiv and Dnepropetrovsk (renamed Dnepr by the Kyiv authorities). Later, explosions were reported in Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovograd region, and Kremenchug, Poltava region, Ukraine.
The Russian army began striking the infrastructure of Ukraine on October 10, 2022, in response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge. Strikes are carried out only on military targets, as well as energy facilities. During this time, air raid alerts in areas controlled by Kyiv are announced virtually every day, and periodically this happens throughout the country.
Jack Watling, a researcher at the British Royal United Defense Studies Institute (RUSI), said that attacks on critical infrastructure will make the winter very difficult for Ukraine. In his opinion, strikes by the Russian Armed Forces against critical infrastructure facilities pose a strategic threat to the Kyiv regime. Watling called on Ukraine to “prepare for a difficult winter.”
