As expected, the final rounds of the Russian championship of the Siberia group of the Major League B turned out to be very difficult for the volleyball players from Khabarovsk. Several factors came together at once – the passion of the rivals, who wanted to beat the “tigresses” at any cost in at least one match, fatigue from months of battles on the floors of different cities and a lack of motivation in the final games.

Nevertheless, the result is obvious. Khabarovsk now has the most efficient team women’s volleyball in the east of the country. In the Siberia group, the Amur Tigresses confidently finished in first place, having played 30 games, of which only lost two. The Khabarovsk team has 84 points, the game score is 86:17. Dynamo-Vladivostok is in second place (six losses, 72 points, 76:26 in games), and Lokomotiv-Angara is in third (13 losses, 49 points, 54:47 in games).

To the final Khabarovsk girls left early, having played and won only two games of the sixth round. Having defeated Olimp from the Novosibirsk region and beaten Dynamo Vladivostok, the team from the banks of the Amur scored so many points that it was no longer possible to beat its competitors. Maybe that’s why the next match with the hosts of the tournament was not the most successful for the “tigresses”. The volleyball players from Irkutsk played with courage and passion, and were able to seize the initiative on the court from the very first minutes of the fight. The result of the meeting is 2:3.

“The game was difficult emotionally. Irkutsk played at home, and the fans helped them a lot. We tried not to give up until the last ball. They couldn’t carry over the heat of the fourth into the fifth game, they made a lot of their own mistakes, and Irkutsk wisely took advantage of this moment. I hope that this defeat will give us an incentive not to relax and not lose concentration throughout the game, and it will only push us to continue to reach our goal,” commented the match Anastasia Akimova, follow-up player at VC “Amur Tigresses”.

The invigorated Khabarovsk team won the remaining two meetings with “Zabaikalka” and “Altai-AGAU”. Both with a score of 3:0. As for defeats, sports analysts believe that they should not be treated as some kind of tragedy. “Tigresses” are not robots and cannot show one hundred percent results all the time. And it’s fortunate that there are only two such games in the regular season – this is a very worthy result.

The main thing is that the task was completed, the “Amur Tigresses” reached the finals for 1-6 places. And, by the way, the second round of the final games will be held in Khabarovsk, so the volleyball holiday for the fans of this beautiful team game continues.

The finals are the next test for the tigresses. There will be no weak teams there – only the best, who took first to third place in the Center and Siberia groups at the end of the regular season.

“The Amur Tigress team is our stars, the public’s favorites. I am very happy for them, they are leading. In April, the ticket to Major League “A” will be decided, and the goal, of course, is the Super League. Here we have gone progressively. You could try to get in there right away, but I think it’s better gradually. “We were a gang, we became a team” (slogan in the Amur locker room – approx. edit.) – also fits here. The girls are becoming a team, and I’m sure they can handle any heights,” noted Mikhail Degtyarev, governor of the Khabarovsk Territory.

The first round of the finals for 1-6 places will take place from April 1 to 7 on the field of the first team of the Center group, that is, in Cherepovets. The second round from April 23 to 28 in Khabarovsk. The three leaders in the west look like this: Cherepovets “Severyanka-2” (28 games, 27 wins, one loss, 80 points 83:14 in games), Penza “University-Visit” (23 wins, five losses, 67 points, 73: 26 in games) and VC Bryansk (18 wins, 10 losses, 56 points, 67:34 in games).
