American media: Ukraine is using the failed strategy of Hitler Germany

BI: Kyiv chose the strategy of Nazi Germany, which ended in defeat
Ukraine is using the failed strategy of Nazi Germany, writes military observer Michael Peck in an article for the American publication Business Insider.
According to her, this strategy echoes the German approach 80 years ago.
“After the failure of the summer counter-offensive, the exhaustion of ammunition and forces to repel constant attacks from Russia, the Ukrainian command is talking about a transition to “active defense.” It hopes to block Russian advances while seeking opportunities to strike back and regain ground,” he writes. At the same time, Peck notes that if such an approach could not stop the Red Army from capturing Berlin in 1945, then it is unlikely to help Ukraine.
In his opinion, active defense is carried out by large units – divisions or armies – while Ukraine conducts operations with smaller units.
“The Germans conducted an active defense through maneuvers and flank attacks against the advancing Red Army. But now such maneuvering is extremely difficult due to drones and missiles,” the article says. Peck also notes that Ukraine, like the Germans, is clearly not ready to leave territory in order to stretch the enemy’s forces and hit them in the flank – preferring a static defense instead. According to him, the experience of World War II proved the failure of this approach.
“The Soviet command could, at will, concentrate overwhelming forces to break through any section of the German lines. The German armored divisions would eventually be exhausted as they acted as armored fire brigades, rushing from one crisis point to another to stop the breakthrough,” the article says.
According to Peck, if Kyiv’s goal is to defeat Russia and regain lost territory, then such a strategy is a failure.
