American hockey player Brennan Menell, who plays for Dynamo Moscow, explained in an interview with Match TV why he wants to obtain Russian citizenship.
Earlier it became known that the processing of documents for granting citizenship has already begun.
Menell noted that he had never played for a national team of any country, and could have played for a Russian team.
“Although there are already a lot of great Russian players, so in my opinion it would be difficult to get there,” he said.
The 25-year-old American played in 50 matches of the completed KHL season and scored 27 (2+25) points with a usefulness index of +11. His new contract, signed in April, runs until 2026.
