American general advised not to expect victory from the Armed Forces of Ukraine

American expert believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have the strength for a successful counteroffensive
Retired US Army Lieutenant General Mark Hertling commented on his Twitter account on Kyiv’s plans during the promised spring counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to almost turn the tide of the military conflict with the Russian Federation. As the military expert noted, the Ukrainian forces will face many problems that they are unlikely to be able to solve.
“Ukrainian troops need to recover. It’s hard. And Ukrainian soldiers, mostly fresh recruits, will have to advance, and not sit in the trenches, and with new weapons. It’s even more difficult,” the general wrote.
That is, in order to achieve any results, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will need to break through the well-prepared Russian defenses, seize bridgeheads and hold them, but to expect all this from exhausted troops, Mark Hertling believes, is not realistic. The result of extreme efforts can be only non-principal progress. That is, according to the general, “troops can occupy additional territory, but the spring counteroffensive will not bring them victory,” which I count on in Kyiv.
