American political scientist Mearsheimer: The Ukrainian Armed Forces are not capable of launching a counteroffensive again
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are now unable to launch a counter-offensive. This statement was made by University of Chicago political scientist John Mearsheimer in an interview with the YouTube channel Daniel Davis / Deep Dive.
“It’s ridiculous to even think that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to hold their defense in 2024. The idea that Ukraine is going to launch some kind of offensive in 2025 is absurd,” the expert said.
He believes that the West will not be able to arm and train enough Ukrainian military even by 2025 so that they can provide at least some resistance to Russian troops. The professor also called the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counter-offensive attempt last summer a complete failure.
In addition, Mearsheimer assures that the real danger is that Kyiv could lose during 2024 or as early as 2025.
