American congressmen demanded the dismissal of three rectors for anti-Semitism

In the United States, congressmen expressed the view that manifestations of anti-Semitism at Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology serve as grounds for the removal of the rectors of each of these universities.
The letter, signed by 74 congressmen, criticizes both the actions themselves after the Hamas attack on Israel and the reaction of the university leadership.
On the morning of October 7, Hamas fighters infiltrated the border areas of southern Israel, killing and taking hostage many civilians and military personnel, and launched more than 3,000 rockets into the country. The number of victims was at least 1,400 people, most of them civilians. Many of the dead were participants in the music festival. The attack was the largest mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust. In response, Israel launched Operation Iron Swords against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
