In the Kaliningrad region there are more than two thousand sports facilities, as well as football grounds, mini-stadiums, swimming pools, skating rinks and bicycle paths.
In 2022, about 48% of the region’s residents regularly exercised. The Minister of Sports of the Kaliningrad Region and five-time Olympic champion Natalya Ishchenko said that this year the figure is more than 50%, Kaskad.tv reports.
There are special programs in the region to introduce sports into the lives of children, youth and the elderly. One such example is the Baltic Longevity program, which gives retirees the opportunity to practice yoga, dancing or exercise therapy.
Previously “MK in Kaliningrad” reportedthat older Baltic people were able to take part in the Nordic Walking Festival. The walking distance was three kilometers.
