Almost 87% of State Duma deputies filed declarations for 2022

Income and property declarations for 2022 were submitted by 86.6% of State Duma deputies, reported website of the lower house of parliament.

“Deputies have the right to publish or not to publish declarations, but to submit data on income and expenses correctly to everyone,” Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of the lower house of parliament of the State Duma, is quoted in the message.

It is noted that 88% of the deputies of the United Russia faction, 82.5% – from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, 85.7% – from the Just Russia – For Truth faction, 78.3% of the LDPR deputies and 85.7% of the deputies of the faction “New people”, as well as all independent deputies. There are three days left until the deadline for filing declarations, the State Duma noted.

On March 1, a law came into force, according to which income declarations of deputies and senators are published in a generalized form – that is, without indicating the names and surnames of parliamentarians. As Pavel Krasheninnikov, Chairman of the Committee on State Building and Legislation, emphasized, the mechanisms for submitting declarations and their verification remain unchanged.

Volodin called the initiative “difficult” and said that “if someone tries to hide behind the norm of the law, but at the same time speaks of openness, this is double standards.” At the same time, Volodin filed a declaration last week, his income in 2022 amounted to almost 81 million rubles.

How wrote earlier, Vedomosti, deputies sent to the special operation zone were allowed not to file income declarations this year. The parliamentarians refer to the presidential decree of December 29, 2022, which stated that during the period of the special operation, military personnel, law enforcement officers participating in the special operation or performing tasks related to its conduct, “persons sent (seconded) to perform tasks” in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson region, do not provide information on income, if such an obligation is assigned to them by law.
