Alleged accomplices in the murder of Daria Dugina refused to recognize themselves as a “criminal group”

The defendants demanded a ban on video filming, as “the media distorts the facts”

On Monday, the Proletarian Court of Tula held another hearing in the case of forgery of documents for a car involved in the murder of journalist Daria Dugina. At the trial of Alexei Kuznetsov and Alexander Suchkov (they are accused of forging documents), the investigation presented its evidence.

As the MK reporter reported from the courtroom, not only, let’s say, interested persons, but also random visitors gathered at the meeting. For example, Kuznetsov’s neighbor came, “I’ve known him for seven years – a good, kind and calm boy. Worked on computers.”

Both defendants immediately asked for a ban on video filming, as “the media distort the facts, there was an attempt to use personal data, it harms loved ones.” The prosecutor, on the contrary, proposed to allow filming until the evidence was examined. In the end, the judge agreed with the prosecutor.

After reading out the main personal data, from which, for example, it turned out that Kuznetsov, although he was engaged in computers, was still unemployed, and also suffers from hypertension and diabetes, the court heard the prosecution.

The prosecutor explained that an organized group for the production of forged documents had been set up in the region. Those who wished to be found via the Internet, Kuznetsov was directly involved in the purchase of equipment and printing. Then the documents were sent to the customer by mail. Suchkov joined the group later – he was assigned to make mock-ups of documents, which he then sent via Telegram to Kuznetsov.

Then the conversation turned to the Mini Cooper, which drove into Russia accused of the murder of Daria Dugina, Ukrainian Natalia Vovk. Kuznetsov again received the customer’s address via Telegram and then sent the finished OSAGO policy by mail to Moscow.

Both Suchkov and Kuznetsov partially admitted their guilt. In particular, they say they had no information that the document would be used to cross borders. The defendants also claim that they were not members of a criminal group, but simply communicated in a messenger with some unidentified persons.

Also, the previous testimonies of witnesses who did not appear at the meeting were read out. For example, Suchkov’s wife said that she met him in 2015, and the marriage was registered in 2021. She worked together with her husband, considers him a calm and hardworking person. The husband was always a confident computer user, he drew sketches, but his wife did not know that he was making fake documents – Alexander himself claimed that he was developing furniture sketches. At the same time, all income went to pay off numerous debts. Since other witnesses did not appear, and their testimony is important for the prosecution, the meeting was decided to be postponed.
