Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channelthat almost 4,000 turnstiles have been updated in the metropolitan metro. According to him, now the turnstiles at all metro stations in Moscow and the Moscow Central Ring accept payment by bank card.
The mayor said that when paying with a bank card, the new turnstiles operate two times faster than the old models, and three times faster for biometrics. He also said that for the implementation of the Fast Payment System (FPS), they have built-in QR code readers.
In addition, he noted that large LED screens and large print on the new turnstiles are convenient for the visually impaired and you can immediately see how many trips or days are left before the expiration of the “One” (a ticket that allows you to travel by metro, monorail, MCC and land transport), or the balance of the Wallet.
