All-Russian student competitions in rugby-7 ended in Kislovodsk

In Kislovodsk (Stavropol Territory) the first all-Russian complex student rugby-7 competitions were held last weekend.
Rugby players from nine universities of the country fought at the stadium named after Hero of the USSR Georgy Romanenko. As a result, the team of the Kuban State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism took the first place, athletes from the Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism took the second place, students of the Dagestan State Pedagogical University took the third place.
“It was a stubborn two-day struggle,” said the head of Kislovodsk Evgeny Moiseev, congratulating the finalists.
Rugby players from Omsk, Kazan, Volgograd, St. Petersburg and Nalchik also took part in the competition.
Rugby 7 is a contact sport included in the Olympic program.
