All-Russian sambo competition in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Hero of the USSR will be held in Velikiye Luki

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Matrosov, the All-Russian sambo competition among men and women and combat sambo among men will be held in the Pskov region. It will take place on January 13 in Velikiye Luki. State Duma deputy, secretary of the Pskov regional branch of the United Russia party Alexander Kozlovsky spoke about this in his Telegram channel.
150 athletes from 23 regions will take part in the competition. Guests of honor will also appear at the sports meeting: coach of the Russian national sambo team Dmitry Maksimov and multiple Russian and world champion in combat sambo Alexey Ivanov.
Dmitry Maksimov will hold a seminar for trainers, following which certificates of advanced training will be issued. Alexey Ivanov will conduct a master class and share successful Sambo wrestling techniques with the competition participants.
The holding of the all-Russian competition became possible thanks to the party project of the United Russia party “Za Sambo”. The grand opening will take place on January 13 at 10:00 at the VLGAFK educational and sports complex.
