All-Russian artistic gymnastics competitions began in Tula

On December 16, Saturday, the All-Russian artistic gymnastics competition began in Tula; this is a very high-level sporting event.
It is dedicated to the Honored Worker of Physical Culture V.E. Nezolenov and excellent student in physical education and sports V.G. Pavelkin. All the athletes and sportswomen were met and addressed by the head of the Ministry of Sports of the Tula Region, Dmitry Yakovlev.
The Minister of Sports of the region wished all participants in the competition to perform successfully and without injuries, recalling that artistic gymnastics is one of the most difficult sports. This type of physical activity requires the highest physical preparation, Yakovlev emphasized.
In total, more than 200 gymnasts aged 10 years and older, representing 11 Russian regions, will take part in the sporting event. The competition between men will be for medals in the floor exercise, as well as for the disciplines on pommel horse, vault, and also on parallel bars and high bar.
Women will compete in the following disciplines: vault, uneven bars, beam and floor exercise.
At these competitions, since they have an all-Russian level, gymnasts can be assigned 1st, 2nd sports categories and the CCM category. The event ends on Sunday, December 18th.
