The authorities of Azerbaijan and Armenia made a joint statement on the release of military personnel and the adoption of confidence-building measures between the countries, which confirms their intention to sign a peace treaty.

According to the statement, as a sign of goodwill, Azerbaijan released 32 Armenian military personnel, and Armenia released two Azerbaijani military personnel.

The press services of the countries’ leaders confirmed that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyan share the opinion that a “historic opportunity to achieve the long-awaited peace has arrived.
