Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that a meeting could be held in Tbilisi with the participation of Armenia to normalize relations between Baku and Yerevan. He announced this at a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, writes “RIA News”.
“If there is such an agreement, representatives of our relevant structures can come to Georgia for a bilateral or trilateral meeting,” Aliyev said.
Aliyev earlier refused from a trip to Spanish Granada, where on October 5 his first negotiations after the “anti-terrorist operation” in Nagorno-Karabakh were planned with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. There, the Armenian prime minister signed a declaration recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh as the territory of Azerbaijan.
The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, later said that both leaders had agreed to take part in a trilateral meeting to be held in Brussels at the end of October.
