The summer-autumn part of the 2023-2024 season did not bring many positive emotions to the fans and management of the Ivanovo Tekstilshchik. The red-blacks played in the “Silver” division and, according to the management’s plan, were supposed to take a place in the top 4 in order to rise to the “Gold” and compete for a return to the First League in the spring, but Igor Kolyvanov’s team was unable to complete the task. The red-blacks took 5th place and lost their chances of promotion 1 match before the end of the championship.
The team’s head coach was named as one of the main culprits for the failure of Tekstilshchik. Igor Kolyvanov took charge of Tekstilshchik in the summer of 2022 and in 1.5 seasons twice failed to fulfill the task set by the management. At first, Tekstilshchik did not rise to the First League, and more recently failed to join the Golden Division.
Rumors began to spread in the press about the imminent resignation of Igor Kolyvanov, but there was no official news on this matter. Various sources named several candidates, but one of the potential contenders for the position of head coach denied information about his appointment.
Alexander Mostovoy spoke about the rumors sending him to coach Ivanovo Tekstilshchik.
“No one from the Ivanovo Tekstilshchik contacted me. The information that I can lead this club is empty,” said Alexander.
