Cypriot “Aris” striker Alexander Kokorin took part in the environmental action of his football club. On Saturday, the football players and fans of Aris, together with eco-activists, cleaned up the city beach of Limassol. It is reported by “Championship”.
Kokorin was given gloves and a garbage bag. The organizers of the action gave him a plot for cleaning.
“We had a great time with the team,” said Kokorin.
He also said that he took his son with him in order “to show and explain to him how garbage affects the environment.”
Together with his son, the football player collected a whole bag of garbage.
To completely restore order on the beach, according to him, “a group of fans and football players was enough.” A whole bunch of “plastic and tin cans” was collected.
Athletes and fans participating in the action also found a “half-rotten office chair”, a five-liter canister and a meat grill on the beach.
“It was the perfect subbotnik,” said Alexander Kokorin.
The 31-year-old striker has already played 7 matches for Aris, in which he scored three goals and made two assists. The Russian footballer joined the team on loan from Fiorentina at the end of August 2022.
