Alexander Kokorin became the best football player in Cyprus in 2023 according to the country’s Union of Sports Journalists (EAK). This was reported in Telegram-channel of the football club “Aris”.

The Russian striker of the Cypriot club “Aris” was also included in the symbolic team according to the JAC. In addition to Kokorin, Vana Alves, Kaju Vanderson and Karol Strusky were included in it.

Alexander Kokorinmoved to Aris from Fiorentina in August 2022. Before that, he played for Spartak. During his first loan spell, playing for Aris, Kokorin scored 13 goals in 30 matches and was recognized the best player in the Cyprus Championship.

In October 2018, Alexander Kokorin and his younger brother Kirill, as well as football player Pavel Mamaev, became involved in two fights in the center of Moscow. Among those affected by the actions of the football players were the driver of the Channel One presenter Vitaly Solovchuk, the head of the department of automobile industry and railway engineering of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Pak and the general director of FSUE NAMI Sergei Gaisin.

In May 2019, Mamaev was sentenced to a year and five months in a general regime colony, the Kokorins to a year and six months. In September 2019, Mamaev and Kokorin were released from the colony on parole. In February 2023 Mamaev stated about the end of a sports career.
