Former striker of the St. Petersburg “Zenith” Alexander Kerzhakov became the head coach of the Cypriot “Karmiotissa”. This was reported in the press service of the club.
The contract with Kerzhakov is for 1.5 years. The new coach has already been introduced to the fans on social networks – in a short video, the athlete addresses the fans in English with the words “Hello everyone, I’m ready, let’s do it!”.
Previously, 40-year-old Kerzhakov coached the youth team of Russia, the Tom and Nizhny Novgorod clubs. The main path as a footballer he went to Zenit. As part of the St. Petersburg team, the athlete became a three-time champion of Russia, the owner of the Russian Cup and twice the Super Cup. With the Spanish Sevilla, the athlete won the UEFA Cup.
“Karmiotissa” is now tenth in the championship of Cyprus. The team scored 23 points in 22 matches.
