Alexander Kerzhakov was introduced as a coach of a European football club

Alexander Kerzhakov is presented as the head coach of the Serbian football club Spartak from Subotica. The Russian specialist signed a contract under the “1 + 1” scheme.

Club president Nikola Simovic told why he chose Kerzhakov. First, Alexander is a football legend. In addition, this is a high-quality young coach who can become a top one in the future. “We believe that we will achieve great results with Kerzhakov,” Simovich confirmed.

Before the Russians tasked to gain a foothold among the top eight teams in the Serbian championship and stay in the top of the playoffs. At the same time, Kerzhakov is expected to focus on the training of young football players and high-quality transfers. Last season, Spartak was on the 10th line in the Serbian championship.

At the beginning of the year, Kerzhakov led another European team, the Cypriot Karmiotissa. But after six matches in which the club won once, drew once and lost four times, Alexander decided to leave the club. He explained that he did this, among other things, because of the attempts of the club’s owner, Russian Dmitry Punin, to interfere in the management of the team.

Kerzhakov won the Russian championship three times with Zenit. Since 2017, Alexander has already acted as a head coach. During this time, he coached Tom, Nizhny Novgorod and the Russian youth team.
