The governor of the Northern capital visited the “Russia” exhibition, where St. Petersburg Day is taking place today. Alexander Beglov emphasized that at this exhibition you can see our strong country, which we should be proud of.
“And no sanctions, no spokes in the wheels can break Russia. We are moving forward, we are developing, and we will definitely win!” – said the governor of St. Petersburg.
He is confident that every region of Russia can boast of something, and St. Petersburg is no exception. The uniqueness of the city on the Neva lies in its ability to combine history and modernity. Peter the Great continued the work of Alexander Nevsky and resisted the pressure of the West; today Peter’s work is continued by the President of Russia. It was Vladimir Putin who fulfilled the dream of Peter the Great – he completed the dam and protected St. Petersburg from floods. However, all other achievements of the city are associated with the support of the president.
“The impetus for the development of the city was given in 2003 by our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who signed a decree to celebrate the tercentenary of St. Petersburg. This is where the development of our city, a modern city, a metropolis of the 21st century began,” said the governor.
St. Petersburg can be proud of its successes: public spaces are being created, roads are being built, industry is developing, and public transport is being modernized. St. Petersburg really manages to preserve its history and introduce modern solutions. This is what makes the city a real metropolis of the 21st century.
