The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have activated only in some sections of the line of contact, told Deputy Commander of the Second Army Corps, Commander of the Akhmat Special Forces Apty Alaudinov TASS.
“The troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not activate along the entire line of contact, only in certain areas, and even then the situation did not undergo significant changes,” he said.
Prior to this, adviser to the acting head of the DPR, Yan Gagin, said that the Ukrainian military had stepped up along the entire front line.
As Alaudinov explained, on the sector of the front for which he and his fighters are responsible, the situation is calm and controlled. Before that, he said that the corps was responsible for the section from Soledar in the DPR to Kremennaya in the LPR.
Russia’s special operation in Ukraine has been going on since February 24, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia. Since October 19 last year, martial law has been introduced in the regions.
